Preparing, Advising & Welcoming Students

P.A.W.S., which stands for Preparing, Advising, and Welcoming Students, is the name of the new student onboarding program that Fisk University will require of all first-year students enrolling in the Fall of 2022. P.A.W.S. is intended to help first-year students make a smooth transition to college and become used to the community on campus by providing them with opportunities to participate in a variety of programs and events.




Preparing and Advising (Virtual One-Stop-Shop)

Students will meet with various key offices to complete the financial clearance process and academic advising for fall 2022:

  • Admissions

  • Financial Aid

  • Student Accounts

  • Residence Life and Campus Services

  • AESP (Academic Advising)

  • Registrar

Welcoming Students (New Student Orientation

  • First-year students will connect with their future classmates, prepare for life inside and outside the classroom, and learn to navigate campus life.

  • Workshops and sessions that will provide support and answer questions relating to academics, health, safety, college transitions, and support services.

  • Opportunity to meet with academic departments, an overview of university resources and technology, and a chance to interact with multiple university offices that will support the FISK University journey.
