First-Year Students

Fisk Welcomes First Year Students

First-Year Students are those students who are still attending high school and/or are also enrolled in college courses (dual-enrolled) and have not yet graduated from high school.

To aid you in the completion of your admission file, please be sure that the following items below are submitted to our office. Incomplete applications will not be considered.  

  • Official Application for completion
  • Official SAT/ACT test scores
  • Official High School Transcript
    • High School Counselors must submit transcripts on your behalf. They can submit your transcript via one of the following methods:
      • Parchment/Naviance ( Strongly Encouraged)
      • The Common Application (school report)- Strongly Recommended 
      • Official Mailed to Fisk University (Attn: Office of Admission)

If Admitted 

  • Submission of Final, Official High School Transcript (including graduation date and official signature upon graduation)Required  

*Special Note: Dual enrolled students If you are a high school student that has taken, or are currently enrolled in, college courses you must submit your final, official college transcript, along with the course descriptions, to our office upon graduation from high school.  

  • College Transcript(s)- Required  
    • Each school(s) you have attended must send an official copy.  Transcript(s) can be sent via one of the following methods:  
    •  Parchment (strongly encouraged) 
    • The Clearinghouse (strongly encouraged) 
    • Official Mailed to Fisk University (Attn: Office of Admission) 
  • Course Descriptions-Required  
    • You must provide the course descriptions of the courses you have taken on a word document in the following format below.  This information can be obtained from your college/university bulletin.  Please be sure to include your full name and the school’s name.   
    • SAMPLE COURSE DESCRIPTION
      • PSY 180, GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY, 4 credits
        The systematic study of the history, experiments, and theories regarding human behavior and the relation of this material to everyday life. Emphasizes the methods and techniques employed in studying human behavior. Required of all psychology majors.
