Join us as we welcome acclaimed author Nancy Johnson to Fisk University for an engaging, daylong experience celebrating our inaugural Summer Reading Program. This immersive visit offers students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to engage deeply with the author, her work, and the broader themes explored in People of Means—a novel grounded in Fisk history and the richness of Black storytelling.

9:00 AM – Arrival to Campus
Nancy Johnson arrives to Fisk University and is welcomed by campus leaders.
9:30 – 11:00 AM – Class Visit
Personalized visit to the “African American Literature” course
Location: Park Johnson Hall, Room 201
Open to all students.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM – Lunch with Students
Location: Fisk Cafeteria
A casual opportunity for students to connect directly with the author.
12:30 – 1:30 PM – Campus Tour
Guided tour exploring Fisk’s rich legacy and its influence on People of Means.
1:30 – 4:30 PM – Break / Author Preparation
5:00 – 6:00 PM – Summer Reading Lecture

Book signing and official photo session to follow. Guests are encouraged to bring their copies of the book for signing.
