Fisk University President Finalizes Cabinet, Setting the Course for University’s Future

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 19, 2026) — As Fisk University celebrates 160 years of academic excellence, President Agenia W. Clark has recruited and established a new academic Cabinet of leaders poised to prepare the university to grow and flourish for future decades. In addition to Dr. Clark, who was named Fisk’s new president in late 2023, the new Cabinet includes six academic leaders with a deep commitment to advancing Fisk’s mission and impact.
Cabinet members are:
- Crystal Churchwell Evans, VP of Development and Alumni Affairs
- Natara Garvin, VP of Student Affairs
- Brian L. Nelms, Provost and VP of Academic Affairs
- Tiffany Bellafant Steward, VP of Student Enrollment and Success
- Wendy Thompson, VP and Chief of Staff
- Tonya Walker, Chief Financial Officer and VP of Business Operations
The Cabinet represents a wide range of expertise in areas such as development, education, finance, policy and public affairs. Alongside Dr. Clark, the Cabinet will oversee initiatives aligned with Fisk’s strategic priorities including recruitment, student success, creating a culture of philanthropy, and the growth and renewal of Fisk’s historic campus.
