Fisk University Unveils New Fitness Center

This Fall Fisk University unveiled numerous campus upgrades including a brand new fitness center for the student union. The new fitness center is located in Spence Hall and features a brand new weight room, cardio circuit, spin cycling area, and full-service locker rooms.

Fisk University President Dr. Vann Newkirk Sr., said, “Here at Fisk University, we understand the importance of a healthy lifestyle not only for our students but, for our entire Fisk community and the new fitness center is something we are extremely proud of.”

Construction of the Fitness center began last Fall and was completed this Summer just in time for the start of the semester. The fitness center has replaced an old sub shop that had been out of commission. All Fisk students, faculty, and staff will have access to the center which houses state-of-the-art equipment, workout classes and will eventually offer personal training sessions.

The fitness center is open Monday-Friday from 9 am – 5 pm and closes each day from 1 pm until 2 pm for cleaning. For more information on the Fitness Center visit https://www.fisk.edu/about/administration/division-of-student-affairs/fisk-fitness-center/
