JoLinda Herring is a practicing attorney in the law firm of Bryant Miller Olive P.A. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Public Finance Group and was the first Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Miami office. Ms. Herring's practice is dedicated to municipal law, governmental tax-exempt financings, and BlueSky securities law. She currently serves as Bond Counsel to the Sunshine State Governmental Financing Commission and was also instrumental in creating the Florida Municipal Loan Council and the Florida Rural Utility Financing Commission and currently serves as bond counsel to both entities.
She has served as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter's counsel to various governmental entities across the State of Florida, State of Connecticut, and the State of Louisiana. Over the past five years, she has completed 145 transactions totaling over $5 billion. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (“NABL”), served as the Chair for NABL’s 2019 Bond Attorney’s Workshop, and served as the Chair of NABL’s 2011 Fundamentals of Municipal Bond Law Seminar. Additionally, she is a frequent speaker at NABL workshops and Florida Government Finance Officers Association conferences. Ms. Herring graduated from Florida State University College of Law, received an M.B.A. in Finance with honors from Vanderbilt, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Fisk University.
She is involved in the community and is the Immediate Past-Chair of the Board of Trustees of Florida Memorial University, Graduate of Leadership Tallahassee Class XVIII, Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Hamptons West Condominium Association, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Miami-Biscayne Bay Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She has won numerous awards for both her legal and volunteer work, most recently being honored as a Woman of Impact in South Florida. She attends New Birth Baptist Church in Miami, Florida.
