CHAIR, GENERAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF FISK UNIVERSITY, INC.
Gina R. Davis, Esq. is an educator with the Chicago Public Schools and an attorney in private practice in Chicago. A 1982 graduate of Fisk University, she has served as Class Agent for her class and in key leadership positions on the local, regional and national levels as an alumna supporting her alma mater. On the local level she has served as president of the Chicago Area Fisk University Alumni Association, Incorporated and is active in the chapter’s efforts to recruit students to attend Fisk. On the regional level, she has served as the Midwest Regional Chair. On the national level, prior to her election as chair of the General Alumni Association of Fisk University, Inc. (GAAFU), she served as parliamentarian and vice chair of the Board of Directors. Gina has served as vice president of the Chicago Chapter of National Women of Achievement, Incorporated, as a board member of Dress for Success-Chicago, and a member of the Chicago Inter-Alumni Council of the United Negro College Fund. Gina is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated and a Life Member of the General Alumni Association, Incorporated of Fisk University (GAAFU).
Gina’s awards and honors, to name a few, include Certificates of Appreciation for her continued support and fund raising efforts from the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), certificates for Outstanding and Dedicated Service from National Women of Achievement, Incorporated-Chicago Chapter, an award from Outstanding Young Women of Achievement, the Profiles of Prominence Award from National Women of Achievement, Inc. - Chicago Chapter, the United Negro College Fund Outstanding Alumnus Award (Fisk University) from the Chicago Inter-Alumni Council of the UNCF, an Outstanding Service Award from the Chicago Area Fisk University Alumni Association, Incorporated, a Certificate of Participation from National Women of Achievement’s National President for hosting the 2009 Fifteenth Biennial CON-WOA Convention, an award from National Women of Achievement, Inc. - Chicago Chapter for Founder’s Day 2010, and The Chicago Defender Newspaper 2010 Women of Excellence Honoree.
In her “spare” time, Gina enjoys reading fiction, traveling the world, raising scholarship dollars for students to attend college and attending college fairs where she encourages high school students in Chicago, its suburbs, & Northwest Indiana to attend the “Best University in the World” - Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Gina is an advocate for education and feels that anyone who desires a college education should have access and be afforded the opportunity.
