2020-2021 President, Student Government Association
Andreas Nelson is a senior Chemistry major from Bolingbrook, Illinois. Since arriving on the campus of Fisk University, it has been Andreas’ mission to serve his university to the best of his ability. Andreas serves as the president for the Class of 2021. During his term as class president, Andreas led the class in fundraising campaigns and campus events. He was a resident assistant for New Livingston dormitory and has been a member of the Fisk University Track & Field team, the Male Initiative, the Chicagoland Fisk club, and the Healthcare Professional club.
In 2019 Andreas proudly served as the SGA Business Manager. Andreas also represented Fisk University at the Andrew Young Emerging Leaders Institute.
For the last four years, Andreas has been a proud scholarship recipient of the Chicago Area Fisk Alumni Association, Inc.
Andreas currently serves as the President of the Student Government Association where he functions as the advocate for the student body of the university. Andreas also serves as the Vice President for Fisk University Alpha Chi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc.
This year Andreas along with a recent Fisk alum, co-founded OPERATION “GOOD TROUBLE”, a voter’s initiative striving to motivate, educate, & inspire young Millennials and Generation Z to vote.
Off-campus, Andreas is a member of the NAACP and the American Chemical Society. Andreas also mentors’ young black males.
Upon graduation, Andreas plans to attend Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry.
