What are "Auxiliary Services"?

The Auxiliary Services that are provided to the Fisk University community with key elements of campus life at its core. We strive to enhances the campus experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors by providing exceptional services that are engaging, innovative, and convenient. Sustaining synergy among our services and supporting the University’s strategic goals is our mission.

Campus Safety & Security

 Mickey West

Mr. West served 4 years of Active Duty in the United States Marine Corps where he advanced to the rank of Sergeant. After being honorably discharged from active duty he worked at a maximum-security prison for the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) for 7 years serving in multiple roles. Mr. West left the MDOC for a position as a School Safety and Security Coordinator at a large High School in Michigan. In 2008 Mr. West moved to Nashville with his wife and accepted a position at Fisk University. He has served as the Department of Campus Safety’s Chief/Director since 2009. He is responsible for the overall operations of the Campus Safety department, as well as the development and implementation of all aspects of emergency management planning and response.

Wedding Services

Wedding Policy Scheduling the Fisk Memorial Chapel.


The Fisk Memorial Chapel is available to host wedding ceremonies on Fisk University’s campus. All requests for weddings require the client to complete the online Wedding Reservation Form. Clients may enquire about the availability of the chapel to host weddings by emailing Weddings may be reserved a maximum of six (6) months in advance. *Please Note: Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis and will not be confirmed without the completed Wedding Reservation Form, a signed contract, and full payment.


The chapel may be booked for weddings provided there are no conflicts with normal University programming. The chapel will be closed on all national and school holiday weekends and during the University events listed here:

  •  Orientation week/Welcome week (beginning of fall semester)
  •  Homecoming weekend
  •  Parent & Family weekends
  •  Christmas recess (Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day and weekend)
  •  Commencement weekends
  •  Other dates based on the University calendar

  • Photography and Videography 
  • Pre-wedding activities
  • Post-wedding Activities
