WHY SHOULD I APPLY?

The Center for Financial Advancement®, a financial skill-building, and homeownership empowerment program at select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that.

WHATS IN IT FOR ME?

There are three levels of participation that members of the Center for Financial Advancement® can commit to:

Level 1 Learner 1

The CFAU Leaner® Subscription is for individuals who would like to learn, stay informed of events and engagement opportunities hosted by the Center for Financial Advancement®. Learner engagement opportunities include Financial Training sessions, Free Access to Center for Financial Advancement® Community Events, HomeFree-USA Homeownership Events,

Access to Free Financial Readiness Homeownership Consultation and Professional Success/Career Opportunities (Limited). Learners are eligible for exclusive drawings.

Level 2 Scholar Learn to Earn Opportunity

The CFAU® Scholar is the core academic of the Center for Financial Advancement®. CFAU® Scholars participate in a 10-month (July April) curriculum with diverse items organized into a

Fall and Spring Scorecard. Each scorecard is focused on four pillars: Financial Readiness, Professional Development, Personal Development, Homeownership Guidance. Scholars have free exclusive access to all Center for Financial Advancement® events and sponsored educational tools and materials. Scholars receive a stipend per semester using a pay for performance model. CFA Scholars are new to the program and can apply during their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year. CFA Scholars have access to internships and jobs with CFAU funding partners. CFAU Scholars travel to the Centralized Money4Life Leadership Conference with scholars from all CFAU schools. Returning scholars are encouraged to volunteer as mentors after their first year.

Level 3 Ambassador Learn to Earn and Economic Wellness Advocate Opportunity w/ Stipend

The CFAU Ambassador® is the top distinction of the Center for Financial Advancement®. High performing CFAU Scholars can apply to become a CFAU Ambassador. CFAU Ambassadors® are leaders and brand ambassadors who participate in a 10-month community financial development program with diverse opportunities to organize and develop their HBCU campus and community. CFAU Ambassadors® work with CFAU Leaders to promote Financial Readiness, Professional Development, Personal Development, and Homeownership Guidance to their community. Ambassadors have free exclusive access to all Center for Financial Advancement® events, sponsored educational tools and materials, and sponsored certification courses. Ambassadors are highly recommended for new career opportunities with CFAU® sponsors. Ambassadors receive a stipend per semester for their engagement. CFAU Ambassadors travel to the Centralized Money4Life Leadership Conference with scholars from all CFAU schools.

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE OF HCA

The Office of Admissions selects 20 HCA Healthcare Scholars within health sciences, but all who share an expressed interest in healthcare. During the duration of the program, HCA scholars will have access to scholarships, internships, and permanent placement opportunities.

The Office of Career and Development Fisk Executive Leadership Program

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE OF FELP

The Fisk Executive Leadership Program is a premier and transformative education program designed
to prepare and provide students with authentic work opportunities, while developing necessary professional skills. Students will practice utilizing essential habits to be competitive in the 21st-century job market and use economic in dependence by contributing towards the cost of their education. The Fisk Executive Leadership Program will allow students to gain valuable work experience and secure opportunities that will help cover college expenses.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

FELP is open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are looking to prepare for internships/experiential learning opportunities. FELP is an 8–10-week program that is offered each semester and participants will attend professional development workshops throughout the semester. Note: Program will accept up to 25 participants per semester.

F.E.L.P. Student Application

The OPCD Ambassador Program targets students who serve as ambassadors and peer mentors for the office. Ambassadors will assist in promoting programs and services throughout the year. The Office of Career Planning and Development is currently accepting Ambassador Program applications. Complete the Student Ambassador application below and submit it for consideration for the program. This program is open to all classifications.

As a career mentor, students are provided with an opportunity to serve as a peer mentor and also assist the office with career planning, assessments, internship searches, and mini mock interviews. The Office of Career Planning and Development is currently accepting the application for Career Peer Mentor. Complete the Career Peer Mentor Application and submit it to be considered for the program. The deadline is 4 August 2022. Please note that only Juniors and Seniors are eligible for this program.

 

 

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE OF ENTERPRISE
The Enterprise Program takes place during the fall and spring semesters. This program prepares students for opportunities within the construction management industry and focuses on project management. Participants will have access to a variety of industry professionals and information. Participants will gain valuable information that will lead to securing internships within Enterprise’s network of partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Enterprise is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and any seniors who are looking to prepare for internships/experiential learning opportunities within the construction industry. Enterprise is a year-long
program with sessions taking place 12 weeks each semester. Participants will attend industry-specific classes throughout the semester. Note: Program participants will be 10-15 for the academic school year.

Enterprise Solutions Application

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE OF RSG
The Ryan Scholars Program takes place during the fall and spring semesters. This program prepares students for opportunities within the insurance industry. Scholars will have access to a variety of industry
professionals and information. Ryan Scholars will gain valuable information that will lead to securing internships within RSG’s network of partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
RSG is open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are looking to prepare for internships/experiential learning opportunities within the insurance industry. RSG is a year-long program with 6-8 weeks each semester sessions. Ryan Scholars will attend professional development workshops throughout the semester. Note: Program participants will be 20 for the academic school year.

OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM BENEFITS

• Receive professional development hours and volunteer in a service-learning project

RSG Program Application

INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE OF R.I.S.E.

The R.I.S.E. Opportunity Foundation Scholars Program takes place during the fall and spring semesters. This program prepares students for opportunities within the insurance industry. Scholars will have access to a variety of industry professionals and information. Scholars will learn about risk management and insurance and receive accelerated financial literacy training. R.I.S.E. Scholars will gain valuable information that will lead to securing internships within R.I.S.E. network of partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

R.I.S.E. is open to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are looking to prepare for internships/experiential learning opportunities within the insurance industry. R.I.S.E. is a year-long program with sessions taking place 8-10 weeks each semester. R.I.S.E. Scholars will attend professional development workshops throughout the semester. Note: Program will accept up to 25 participants per semester.
