Presidential Search Committee Second Update

Dear Fisk Family:

I am pleased to provide this update on the work of the Presidential Search Committee.  In response to my letter of May 17, we received numerous outstanding resumes of individuals nominated for President of Fisk University.  In June, we met in Nashville to review the resumes selected by Diversified Search as meeting the criteria outlined in the job specifications for the next President of Fisk University. 

During the last week of August, the Search Committee will begin a formal interview process with those candidates whose experience, academic and administrative qualifications, accomplishments, character and values are the best fit for Fisk University.  As this process continues to conclusion, I encourage you to continue to nominate individuals you deem qualified for this important office. 

In September, the Committee will select at least three candidates for the Presidency to be interviewed by the Fisk University Board of Trustees during its fall meeting.  Thank you for your inquiries and valuable contributions to the selection process.  I am heartened that so many of us are passionately committed to Fisk’s legacy of excellence and service.
