83rd Annual Spring Arts Festival

Fisk University is hosting its 83rd Annual Spring Arts Festival from April 11 through April 15, 2012 on the University’s campus.  The event will kick off with the opening of Fisk’s Student Art Exhibition at 10 a.m. on April 11 at the Aaron Douglas Gallery.  Highlights for this year’s festival include a concert by the Fisk Jubilee Singers®, the Exhibition Opening of Leon Hicks: The Ingenious Line, Fisk Stagecrafters’ presentation of Samm-Art Williams’ “HOME”, and a closing concert by the Fisk Choir.

Fisk’s Spring Arts Festival, is one of Nashville’s longest running celebrations of the arts. Featured artists and lecturers in the event’s history have included Langston Hughes, Dr. Martin Luther King, Aaron Douglas and Duke Ellington among others.
