Fisk University produces more African-Americans who go on to obtain graduate degrees in physics than any other school in the nation.

The University's Molecular Spectroscopy Research Laboratory is internationally recognized.

Fisk University's Delta Chi chapter of Phi Beta Kappa was established in 1952 and is the first to function on a predominantly African American campus.

In the United States, among currently practicing black physicians, lawyers, and dentists, one in six is a Fisk graduate.
