Before coming to Fisk, Mrs. Harris had retired as an elementary teacher with the Metropolitan Nashville School System after 26 years. She joined the Fisk family 20 years ago as a library assistant in the Access Services department. Mrs. Harris assists in all aspects of Access Services including circulation, reserves, interlibrary loan, stack maintenance and some reference services. In addition, she monitors student library accounts, prepares monthly statistical reports and creates library displays to commemorate important historical and campus events. Mrs. Harris also helps with the preparation and implementation of information literacy sessions.
Always energetic, she is active in numerous civic groups. In her spare time, Mrs. Harris rides with her husband in the Soul Seekers Motorcycle Ministry.
