Fisk University Presents “Christmas at Fisk”

Nashville, TN – Fisk University proudly presents “Christmas at Fisk” on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Clinton B. Fisk Memorial Chapel.  This annual holiday event will feature performances by Fisk’s Chamber Choir, Jazz Ensemble, University Choir and the world-renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers®.

Songs slated to be performed include: “Opera of the Bells,” “Mary Had a Baby,” “The Word Was God,” “Christmas Time Is Here,” “O Holy Night” and “Rise Up Shepherd.  ”Silent Night,” “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” and “The Twelve Days of Christmas” will include audience participation.

"The tradition of a Christmas program at Fisk goes back to the University's early days,” said Dr. Philip Autry, Music Discipline Coordinator. “This is a great opportunity for the campus and community to come together, hear the diversity of Christmas music through a wide variety of styles, and sing together as one voice.”

The event is open to the public and admission is free.
For more information, please contact Dr. Philip Autry at 615-329-8702.
