Summer Checklist from Admission & Student Financial Aid

Greetings to you and your family.  I am sure you are busy with graduation plans but I just wanted to take a moment to remind you of some important things regarding your enrollment this fall at Fisk University.

Do not forget that we need an official final transcript.  This transcript must contain either a school seal or signature of a designated school representative.  Failure to submit this transcript will cause delays in fall registration.

If you are utilizing financial aid or have plans to, please ensure that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been completed and submitted.  The code for Fisk is 003490. For quickest access, go to www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you have an outstanding scholarship contract, please sign it and return it as soon as possible.  If you have secured scholarships through means other than Fisk University, please communicate that information to the Office of Financial Aid so that your account may be accurately reflected.

Helpful Hints

• Don’t buy anything in your hometown and transport it here, if it can be bought here: (i.e. toiletries, linens, computers, personal items, electronic equipment, etc.)
• Bring only clothing for warm weather. Your winter clothing can be shipped to you when you need them.
• Open an account at a national bank so your parents and guardians can access the account in your hometown. This will allow easy deposits into your account that you can access.
• Avoid signing up for a credit card! It will have you in debt that you do not need.
• Bring all of the letters and documentation you have received from Fisk up to the day you arrive.
