The Department of Modern Foreign Languages encourages its majors and joint majors to study overseas to refine their speaking skills and immerse themselves in a foreign culture. Spanish majors are afforded the opportunity to study at the Estudio Internacional Sampere in Salamanca, Spain. This highly reputed foreign language institute offers Spanish at all proficiency levels. Though the focus is primarily on language acquisition and instruction, courses are also offered in Spanish literature and culture. Students may also participate in excursions and tours to places of interest and importance.
