The Materials Science and Applications Group has 4 main directions for research: Crystal Growth, Detector fabrication, Materials  Characterization, Detector Evaluation and Applications.

Crystal Growth

We have grown successfully Srl2 and and some chalcopyrites: LiInSe, LiGaSe, LiGaTe, AgGa1-xInxSe2 , AgGaGe3Se8.

Detector Fabrication

Material  Characterization

We have capabilities to characterize all the crystals that we are growing in our group and other crystals such as CZT, grown by our partners .

The characterization process includes tests o electrical and optical adiation detection properties. For details about each step of characterization click on the name of the test above.
