Bio
Dr Wingfield’s research and scholarship are in the determination of the chemical fate of environmental toxins, and their detection by analytical chemistry strategies. His scholarship also includes a focus on environmental justice, for which he has been recognized by serving in behalf of the Nashville Mayor as a member of the Davidson county Wastewater Hearing Authority, and for the Governor of Tennessee as a member of the Compliance Advisory Panel. Dr Wingfield also served as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for development of a “Strategic Plan for the Department of Environment and Conservation in Tennessee” in 2000. Dr Wingfield teaches general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry and their associated laboratories.
