I had a wonderful opportunity interning with Google in their Online Sales Department this past summer in California. The internship was 11 weeks and was filled with some of the most challenging and rewarding experiences. As an intern, I was able to get an unique glimpse at a career in business at one of the top technology companies. Google hosted weekly case study workshops on business modules, tech talks, and skill-building seminars. This internship also allowed me to network with my peers and Senior VPs daily due to their flat business structure. Overall, I had a great time at Google and its truly the best company to work for.

Sydnee Rice (2011)

I am a senior and Business Administration major with a concentration in Accounting. During my time at Fisk, I have taken part in multiple activities including Delta Mu Delta and granted many awards such as Presidential Scholar. After my first year at Fisk, I joined INROADS and was given the amazing opportunity to intern with KPMG LLP for three summers from 2008-2010. After two summers of familiarizing myself with the firm’s culture and values, I finally interned within the Audit Services of KPMG. Although my internship proved challenging at times, I was rewarded with knowing that I chose the right career path. Reviewing numerous financial documents, speaking with mentors, and networking with firm partners helped to prepare me for what my career with KPMG and the accounting field had to offer. As a result of my experiences at Fisk, INROADS, and KPMG, I feel prepared and excited for what life after college has in store for me.
