Office of the Executive Vice President & Provost

As the chief academic officer of the University, I have responsibility for guiding the academic development and direction of the University in adherence with our mission, vision and values.  The support of innovative teaching, excellence in scholarship and collaborative public service is important and essential for development of all constituents within the Fisk community.  Fisk measures its achievements through the success of its students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

Committed to maintaining the high quality of our academic programs, we are built upon the foundations of a liberal education tradition.  Our students are preparing to be scholars and leaders in the ever changing global community.  Our faculty, administration and staff seek to sustain an environment of accountability, creativity, innovation and support that aid students and the entire Fisk community to achieve their maximum potential as the search for knowledge is undertaken.

Through strategic planning, the Office of the Provost has budgetary responsibility for academic programs and resources and oversees academic policies and regulations.  It fosters a culture of service to students, collegiality between faculty and staff, and shared governance.  The Provost’s Office serves as a liaison with other University units in strategic and long-range planning.  As we approach our sesquicentennial year in 2016, we accept the challenging times and commit to adapt and maintain excellence throughout our next 150 years!

Thank you for visiting the Fisk web site.  Let us know if we can be of service to you.
