Presidential Search Committee – Third Update

Dear Fisk Family:

I am pleased to provide this update on the progress of the work of the Presidential Search Committee of the Fisk University Board of Trustees.  During September and October, the Committee interviewed seven candidates.  This has been an arduous, thorough and exciting process.  The qualifications of all of the applicants have received careful consideration.

With the able assistance of our consultants, Diversified Search, Inc. and logistical support from the Office of the President, the Committee selected three candidates for the Presidency for interview by the Board of Trustees at the October Board meeting.  I am pleased to report that the Search Committee has selected two finalists.

Within the next 11 days, each finalist will visit the campus to meet in public fora with Fisk students, faculty, staff, as well as, alumni and friends.  Shortly, the Committee will provide the names and biographies of the finalists and a schedule for constituent meetings.  We trust that you will be available to meet with each candidate and provide feedback to the Search Committee.

At the conclusion of the finalists’ visits to Fisk, the Presidential Search Committee will deliberate and recommend to the Board of Trustees the candidate for President.  Thereafter, the Board of Trustees will convene a meeting and name the 15^th President of Fisk University on or before December 31, 2012.
