Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a new collaborative learning tutoring initiative through AESP that will assist students taking courses in the Natural Science, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
·SI sessions are structured and designed to tackle difficult topics and material developed by the instructor to help students on a weekly basis.
·SI sessions are intended to help students develop and improve a particular skill set and help students improve their problem-solving abilities.
·SI covers particular topics each week to create, to improve, and to help students sustain good study habits throughout the semester; consequently, sessions are designed to help students who attend weekly.
·SI sessions are lead by a trained undergraduate and graduate student who works with the instructor to develop review sheets for the sessions.
·SI data indicates that students who attend SI sessions on a repeated basis make better grades than those who do not attend SI sessions .
