The Fall 2012 school year is rapidly approaching. We are very excited that you selected Fisk University to continue your education.  It will be my pleasure to meet you when you arrive to campus in August. Please carefully review this letter and all attached documents, and return them to the University as quickly as you can. For first time students who will reside on campus, it is required that you complete a housing application. This application is included in this packet and should be returned to the Office of Student Engagement by fax at (615) 329-8714 or at the following address:Â
Office of Student Engagement
ATTN:Â RESIDENCE LIFE
Fisk University
1000 17th Avenue North
Nashville, TNÂ 37208
Students who plan to live off campus may download and return an Application for Off-Campus Housing by visiting www.fisk.edu and clicking on the drop down box for Campus Life, Student Engagement, Residence Life, and Housing Forms.Â
Â
Your application is due by Monday, April 30, 2012 for priority consideration for residence hall placement and for consideration of your roommate request. Any packet not postmarked by Monday, April 30, 2012 will not receive priority consideration, and you may be randomly assigned to a roommate and room based on the information submitted in your application. Freshman women will reside in Jubilee Hall. Freshman men will reside in New Livingstone Hall on the first floor. Also, please be sure to complete the other enclosed forms, which include the Authorization to Release Personal Data, a Personal Record Form, and a Health Information Form.
Â
Once your application has been received, your room assignment for the Fall will be emailed to you with a packet of information to prepare you for the upcoming year. Please be certain to provide a clear and legible email address on your application. This packet will contain the name and phone number of your roommate, a
list of what items you may bring, and a list of items that are prohibited. It will also include measurements for the residence hall rooms and beds, and information pertinent to the date and times you may move into your new housing assignment. Housing Information Packets for new students that meet the priority deadline will be emailed on May 11, 2012. Once you arrive to campus in the Fall, you will also be required to sign your official housing contract and provide emergency contact information.  Â
We look forward to your arrival in August, and wish you a wonderful summer!
