HOW TO APPLY
The application process involves admission of a completed application for admission to Fisk University beginning September 1 of the applicant’s senior year in high school. Applicants who wish to be considered for priority evaluation should apply prior to March 1. Those interested in financial aid for Fall or Spring are urged to apply no later than February 1 in order to receive full aid consideration. Many sources of financial aid are already fully committed after that date. However, financial aid application for Spring entrants are accepted until October 1. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that the Office of Recruitment and Admission receives all credentials.

APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Complete Your Application Form:
Every question should be answered carefully and completely. Any false statement, or any omission of any fact in a student’s application, is grounds for denial of admission or for subsequent cancellation of the student’s registration.
2. Write Your Essay:
The essay should address one of the following topics:

Identify a Fisk alumnus that has shaped your beliefs

Regarding service and civic responsibility, what is your viewpoint and how has it been informed by an opportunity to serve?

Autobiographical sketch of yourself
3. Submit the sealed
envelopes containing your official transcript. In the event that ACT or SAT test results are not included on the high school transcript, the applicant must have the appropiate testing organization send the directly to the Office of Recruitment and Admission. Applicants who are home schooled should submit a sealed transcript
and two letters of recommendation from someone other than a family member who can speak to their ability to complete college level coursework.
The official record should be as complete as possible up to the time the application is submitted. If the student attended more than one secondary school or college, a transcript must be submitted from each school or college.
4. Submit all items and your application fee ($25 for U.S. citizens and $75 for international applicants) in the application envelope.
