Bio

Dr Collins serves as Director of a National Science Foundation-funded Center for Research Excellence in Science and Technology( CPCOM) . His research is in materials science, though his research also has included nuclear physics. Before joining Fisk University, Dr Collins served at Bell Laboratories (NJ), Los Alamos National Laboratory, NM, Memphis State University (TN), and Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA. A former Rhodes Scholar, Dr Collins has numerous honors and professional affiliations, including serving as President of the National Society of Black Physicists.
